Man Is Caught with Drugs; Several Arrests Are Made
Richard Louis Rodriquez of Shady Dale was arrested last week after he was stopped on Post Road in the area of Barn Bridge Road for an equipment violation and prior knowledge of outstanding arrest warrants for distribution of marijuana, according to information from the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO).
After his arrest Mr. Rodriquez’s vehicle was searched and three individually packaged bags of marijuana were located inside the passenger compartment resulting in an additional charge of distribution/sale of marijuana, the JCSO report said.

On August 26 a resident on Gaissert Road in Newborn reported the theft of batteries for a bobcat, dump truck, and industrial type batteries.
•On August 23 the plant on Georgia Pacific Road reported the theft of a utility trailer.
•On August 22 a resident on Funderburg Drive reported the theft of various jewelry and two firearms.
•On August 22 a resident on Ashwood Drive in Mansfield reported the theft of a desktop computer, a photo printer, a refrigerator, an electric dryer, a washing machine and a box-type TV.
•On August 21 a resident on South Blackwell Road reported the theft of propane stainless steel grill.
•The owners of a hunting camp on Dykes Road reported the August 20 theft of a brick smoker and damage to the property.
In addition, the JCSO reported the following arrests during the period of August 20-27:
•Tiffany O. Neal, 24, Covington—hold for warrant at Covington Police Department.
•Zachary Allen Vaught, 27, Conyers—probation violation.
•Kristen Mary Voyles, 23, Monticello—driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs and failure to yield when entering roadway.
•Quincy Amos Bogan, 33, Eatonton—probation violation.
•Bart Wesley Ray, Covington—probation violation.
•Jerry Alvin Ray, 55, Monticello—failure to appear.
•Montonia Anteon Thurman, 31, Monticello—probation violation.
•Heather Gail Rutledge, 21, Covington—possession of methamphetamine, and possession of drugs related objects.
During this same period deputies with the JCSO responded to 177 calls for service including 70 stopping suspicious person/vehicle, 11 subject needs officer, six each assist motorist, accident, mechanical breakdown, and theft by taking, five each alarm, pick up prisoner/subject and welfare check, four each domestic, juvenile complaint, music/noise complaint and vandalism of property.
Also, three each livestock on road, escort or convoy and threatening/harassing calls, two each speeding auto, mental person, assault, child custody case, dead on arrival, trouble unknown, trespassing and attempt to serve warrant, one each fight, dog disturbance, burglary, courtesy ride, intoxicated pedestrian, be on the look out, overdose, missing person, four wheeler, discharge firearms, stabbing, property found, checking location, vgcsa and argument.
Also during this period the Monticello Police Department (MPD) reported the following arrests:
•Christopher Cornelius Stone, 38, Monticello—hold for a warrant at the Covington Police Department.
•Charles Lincoln Anderson, 24, Monticello—possession of marijuana less than one ounce and seat belt violation.
•Donavin Kentrell Sands, 24, Monticello—probation violation.
•James Eric Minnoia, 31, Monticello—driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
•Emmanuel Andrew Hester, 22, Monticello—affray (fighting).
•Jerry Oneal Montgomery, 49, Monticello—affray (fighting).
•Ronald Carlton Jackson, 60, Monticello—disorderly conduct.
During this period officers with the MPD responded to 71 calls for service including 22 stopping suspicious person/vehicle, five theft by taking, four subject needs officer, three each accident, music/noise complaint mechanical breakdown and vandalism of property.
Also, two each burglary, shortness of breath, crowd disbursement and argument, one each alarm, speeding auto, intoxicated pedestrian, hit and run, mental person, fall, missing person, welfare check, child custody case, juvenile complaint, possible suicide, private property, trouble unknown and checking location.
