Andre Arness Boykin

Andre Arness Boykin of Monticello, died August 18, 2013.

Mr. Boykin was born in Monticello on January 27, 1960, to the late Jewell and Eddie Boykin, Sr.

He joined Sardis C.M.E. Church at an early age. Later he moved to Fort Myers, Fla. where his daughter Joycelyn was born, and eventually returned to Monticello where he lived until his death. He was known for his pleasing personality and had many friends throughout the community.

Mr. Boykin was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Eddie Boykin Jr.

Survivors include his daughter, Joycelyn Richard and three grandchildren, Nadia, Ethan, and Ryan; a sister, Barbara Johnson and a brother, Calvin Boykin, all of Monticello. a Godson, Cornelius Bailey of Rutledge, and a number of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, Aug. 24, at Sardis C.M.E. Church in Monticello, with interment in the church cemetery.

Rev. Carla P. Hill officiated.

Smith and Sons Funeral Home in Monticello was in charge of arrangements.
