Middle School Lady Cougars Earn Win
Piedmont Academy’s Middle School softball team got the new season started on the right foot with a doubleheader sweep of Briarwood Tuesday.
Lucy Tuggle earned the win in the first contest working two innings with a strikeout. Tuggle also contributed at the plate with two hits, including a triple, and five RBI’s.
Madison Johnson had two hits, including a double, while Jordan Camp and Cassidy Cook both had two walks and scored two runs. Breanna Price finished with a hit and two runs while Ashton Mooney had two walks and two runs. MacKensie Johnston drew two walks and scored a run while Hailey Hooper walked and scored a run.

In the second game, Madison Morton earned the win working five innings and recording nine strikeouts. She scattered three hits in the 10-0 victory.
Gracie Hunt had an RBI double while Alexis Dodson drove in two runs and had two stolen bases. Tuggle drove in two runs and had a stolen base. Johnson finished with two RBI’s and a stolen base while Cook had two stolen bases. Hooper walked and had a stolen base while Morton and Camp had one stolen base each.
