Several Are Sentenced in Court

Jeffery Sean Kidd, II, who was on probation for three charges of burglary in 2011 was back in Superior Court Tuesday, with Judge Hulane E. George, presiding.

Mr. Kidd was found to have violated the conditions of his probation via the new charges of criminal damage to government property, curfew violations and failure to pay court ordered fines and fees. His probation was revoked to prison for three years with credit for time served in the county jail, and upon release will be returned to active probation supervision.

Two other probation violation case which were on the calendar were processed as follows:

•Kerry Britt Treadwell, who was on probation on the charge of false imprisonment in February of 2008, was found to have violated the conditions of his probation via the new charges of public drunkenness.  Mr. Treadwell was ordered to successfully complete the in-treatment Christian Family Center Drug Program, and once successfully completed to be returned to regular probation supervision.

•Marlayna Cordell, who was on probation for the charges of theft by taking and driving while license suspended in March of 2012, was found to have violated the condition of her probation via the new charges of failure to pay and failure to report.  Ms. Cordell was released from jail and ordered to pay $2,453 in 90 days or to serve 90 days in the county jail, and upon payment or release from jail to be returned to regular probation supervision as originally ordered.

It was a short calendar for the court this week, however, Civil Trials are scheduled next week, along with the Grand Jury convening to consider indictments and appointments to the board of assessors. In addition, a motion day is scheduled Tuesday, Aug. 13.
