Drugs, Cash, Paraphernalia Are Seized

A search warrant was executed at a residence on Herring Gull Court in the Rollingwood Cove area last Wednesday, July 31, according to information received form the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO)  

Methamphetamine, digital scales, packaging materials and unlawfully possessed Schedule II and IV prescription drugs were discovered resulting in the following arrests and charges as indicated:  

•Stephanie Loraine Quinton, 32, Monticello—possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, possession of a schedule II drug with intent to distribute (three counts), possession of schedule IV drugs with intent to distribute (two counts) and reckless conduct. 

•Percy Chadwick Taylor, 31, Monticello—possession of a schedule II drug with intent to distribute and possession of a schedule IV drug with intent to distribute.  

In this same incident, a warrant was also issued for the arrest of Tilson Jermaine Minor charging him with possession of a controlled substance and four counts of possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute.

•On August 4 a resident on Shoreline Drive reported the theft of trim-lanyard with switch from the front of a personal watercraft.

•On August 4 two vehicles were reported broken into in the parking lot of Frank’s Restaurant in Hwy. 212 East with one vehicle being damaged and a Coach purse and a Georgia driver’s license stolen.

•On July 30 Larry’s Four Way on Hwy 212 East reported the theft of various cartons of cigarettes.

Also, during the period of July 30 through August 6 the JCSO reported the following additional arrests:

•Mario Bernard Thurman, Jr., 41, Monticello—child support.

•Kerry Britt Treadwell, 45, Monticello—probation violation.

•Lakisha Michelle Thomas, 34, Monticello—probation violation.

•William Howard McNerney, III, 33, Covington—probation violation.

•Marlayna Chanise Cordell, 32, McDonough—probation violation.

•Jennifer Gayle Lewis, 34, Monticello—child support.

•Elizabeth Laurie Johnson, 32, Mansfield—possession of marijuana less than one ounce.

•Cortez Antonio Paul, 42, Macon—license violation and speeding.

•Scott Michael Johnson, 40, Mansfield—probation violation.

•Moki Makoma Elsasser, 35, Hillsboro—probation violation and possession of marijuana less than one ounce.

•Dustin Lee Raynor, 18, Monticello—Jasper County Magistrate Court bench warrant.

•Lisa Darlene Biddy, 38, Monticello—probation violation.

During this same time period deputies with the JCSO responded to a total of 210 calls for service including 105 stopping suspicious person/vehicle, 17 alarm, 12 subject needs officer, six each accident, escort or convoy and vandalism of property, five each pickup prisoner/subject and trouble unknown, four each mechanical break down, juvenile complaint and road hazard.

Also, three speeding auto, two each courtesy ride, music/noise complaint, threatening/harassing calls, argument, abandoned vehicle and vgcsa, one each fight, dog disturbance, burglary domestic, assist motorist, theft by taking, be on the look out, burn, assault, welfare check, discharge fire arms, disorderly, private property, checking location, trespassing, persons refuse to leave, request DNR and attempt to serve a warrant.

During this same period the Monticello Police Department (MPD) reported the following arrests:

•Albert Darnell Brown, 32, Athens—driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. driving while license suspended or revoked and hold for warrant in Clarke County.

•Michael Oneal Lyons, 46, Shady Dale—disorderly conduct.

•Donavin Kentrell Sands, 24, Monticello—criminal trespass and disorderly conduct.

Also, during this period officers with the MPD responded to 46 calls for service including 11 stopping suspicious person/vehicle, five subject needs officer, three each burglary, two each fight, alarm, domestic, speeding auto, intoxicated pedestrian, escort or convoy, road hazard and argument, one each hit and run, laceration, discharge firearms, dead on arrival, private property, trouble unknown, music/noise complaint, threatening/harassing calls, vandalism of property, persons refuse to leave and abandoned vehicle.

In addition, during this same period the Georgia State Patrol reported the following arrests:

•Jeremy Arkell Sands, 21, Hillsboro—speeding and obstruction of an officer.

•Kenny Leon Strickland, Jr., 28, Monticello—driving while license suspended or revoked.
