Charlie Clenton Allen
Charlie Clenton Allen, 73, of Eatonton, died Monday, August 5, 2013, at Coliseum Northside Hospital in Macon.
Mr. Allen was born in Walton County and moved to Monticello 60 years ago. His parents were the late Charles William Allen and Ruth Harp Allen. He was a member of Smithboro Baptist Church. He enjoyed the outdoors and loved to garden and share the vegetables with family and friends.
Before retirement, he was a bus driver for Gatewood Academy and Athens Academy and a milk truck driver. He owned and operated a dairy farm while living in Monticello and moved to Eatonton about 40 years ago and operated a hog farm.
His sister, Dorothy Jean Roberts preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife, Cora Lee Styles Allen of Eatonton; son, David Allen of Eatonton; grandson, Clenton Wayne Allen of Perry; sisters, brother-in-laws, and brother, Bettie and Hulon Speer of McDonough, Janette Smith of Buford, Gary Allen of Monticello; and Donia and Terry Smith of Jackson; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, August 7, 2013, from 11 a.m. to noon at Jordan Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at noon, Wednesday, August 7, 2013, at the chapel of Jordan Funeral Home. Revs. Heck Davis and Larry Cook will officiate. Interment will be held in Talmadge Cemetery in Monticello.
