PIEDMONT ACADEMY CHEER CAMP

During the week of July 22, Piedmont’s middle school and varsity cheer squads held cheerleading camp. Instructors from United Cheerleading Association (UCA), conducted the camp for both squads.

The cheerleaders learned new cheers, chants, dances, and practiced their stunting. On the last day of camp, the squad painted spirit and run-through signs. UCA Coach Emily Blumer is a student at Clemson University in South Carolina. She is obtaining a degree in early childhood education and cheers for Clemson’s football, basketball, and competition squads. She is from Dallas, GA.

Anice Moore, accompanying UCA coach, is a student at Jacksonville State University in Alabama and currently a graduate student obtaining her master’s in special education. Ms. Moore is from Cedartown. The Cougar squads will conduct an elementary cheerleading camp on Saturday, Aug. 17, for elementary cheerleaders—students in grades kindergarten through fifth.

Those taking part in the camp this week included Anice Moore, Savannah Mote, Sydney Davis, Railey Holloway, Dana Wright, Madison McCart, Ryn Smith, Taylor Patterson, Emily Blumer. Varsity Coach Elizabeth Davis, Morgan Whitley, Grayson Bradley, Jordan Hicks, Addie Barnes, Alicia Peek, Morgan Leach, Kelsey Leach, Middle School Coach Helen Harmon, Ivy English, Bridgette Phillips, Alex Stanton, Loren Pope, Mikayla Rigsby, Emma Kate Edmonds, Grace Roberts, JaDe’ Padgett, Tracie Harris and Madison Sanders.
