Rev. William Paul McKinnon
Rev. William Paul McKinnon, Sr., 84, died Tuesday, June 18, 2013.
Rev. McKinnon was born November 20, 1928 in Jacksonville, FL, to the late John Roy McKinnon and Florie Jane Tyson McKinnon.
He served in the U.S. Army. He leaves a legacy of Christians as he served as a Presbyterian minister for 50 years.
Rev. McKinnon pastored several churches in South Carolina, Georgia, and Louisiana. He also served as a parrish associate at Monticello Presbyterian in Monticello.
Surviving are two sons and their wives, William “Paul” McKinnon, Jr. and Joan, John Richard McKinnon and Aubre; three daughters and their husbands, Jane Elizabeth McKinnon Smith and George, Virginia Luanne Ann McKinnon Lawrence, and Mary Caroline McKinnon Allen and Henry “Buddy”; 27 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two wives, Virginia Lou Henry McKinnon and Saranne McPherson McKinnon.
Funeral services were to be held Friday, June 21 in the chapel of Presbyterian Home, Clinton, S.C. A private burial was to be held Saturday, June 22, in the Statenville Cemetery, Statenville, GA.
Fletcher Funeral Service was in charge of arrangements.
