Memorial Day Holiday Is Monday

Next Monday, May 27, is the official Memorial Day holiday, a day set aside to honor those service members who died protecting our country.

It has become the unofficial start to summer, as well, and locally all schools will be out for the summer before Monday, with Piedmont’s last day being tomorrow.

Banks, post offices, government offices, and many businesses will be closed for the holiday. The Monticello News office will be closed. Therefore, we ask that all news items and advertisements be submitted no later than 5 p.m. tomorrow, May 24. Late news and ads will be taken until noon Tuesday, May 28, but it’s best to get information in by tomorrow.
