Brady McMichael Pitches in National Championship

THE TOCCOA FALLS EAGLES BASEBALL TEAM ARE NATIONAL CHAMPIONS

The Toccoa Falls College Eagles clinched the NCCAA Division II National Championship on Saturday in Mason, Ohio at Prasco Park.

This was the team’s fourth World Series Championship in five years.

The team began tournament play by defeating Cairn University from Pennsylvania 11-0 and then faced regional opponent Clearwater Christian and defeated them 16 – 2.

The Eagles then faced #3 ranked Dallas Christian from Texas and defeated them 4-2 and headed to the championship round. Dallas Christian defeated Florida Christian who is another regional opponent for Toccoa.

Under overcast and cool conditions, the Eagles eliminated Dallas Christian 4-3 in the first game earning another National Championship trophy.

Brady McMichael, of Monticello (#27 far left) pitched in game two against Clearwater Christian. He is the son of Jay and Kim McMichael, and a 2012 graduate of Jasper County High School.

His parents, along with sister, Brandi, and grandparents, Jimmy and Lynda Sue McMichael, traveled to Ohio to cheer on the Eagles.

Also in attendance was former Monticello resident Chris Jackson. He played with the Eagles as catcher on the 2011 World Series Team.

Chris is the son of Ken and Susan Jackson.
