U.S. News Ranks JCHS Among Top Schools
U.S. News & World Report recently ranked Jasper County High School as a top high school in the United States. Earning a bronze medal, Jasper County High School was among the top 23 percent of all high schools evaluated in the country.
The Gwinnett School of Math, Science and Technology, a Gwinnett County public schools high school, was the number one school ranked in Georgia. GSMST was also ranked number three in the nation. Of the top ten schools ranked in the United States, five are southeastern schools.
Jasper County High School was one of only three schools in the Middle Georgia Regional Educational Service Agency (RESA) to receive a national ranking. The Middle Georgia RESA includes Bibb, Crawford, Houston, Jones, Monroe, Peach and Twiggs counties.

Of the surrounding counties, including Baldwin, Butts, Jones, Monroe, Morgan, Newton and Putnam counties, only Mary Persons High School (MPHS) in Monroe County and Putnam County High School (PCHS) also received national recognition. MPHS received a silver medal, and PCHS received a bronze medal as well.
U.S. News analyzed 21,035 public high schools in 49 states and the District of Columbia. Rankings were based on performance on state proficiency tests and the degree to which schools prepare students for college-level work. In total, U.S. News nationally ranked the 4,805 highest-scoring schools as gold, silver or bronze.
Robyn Mullis is the principal at Jasper County High School.
“We work really hard to prepare our students for academic and career success,” said Ms. Mullis. “We strive to provide diverse coursework, and are proud to offer several Advanced Placement classes. I’m really proud of the staff and students at JCHS.”
