Isis L. Clark

Isis Laquavis Clark, 23, of Monticello died Sunday, April 14, 2013.

Ms. Clark was born June 9, 1989 in Rockdale County to Mr. and Mrs. Jessie L. Clark of Jasper County.

Acknowledging her need for spiritual growth and guidance, she gave her life to Christ and united with Saint James A.M.E. Church on December 20, 2009. She received her education from the Jasper County school system.

During her short lived time, she enjoyed working, singing, styling hair and writing. Her smile only complemented her hardworking, dedicated encouraging personality. It was said, “to know her is to love her, to meet her was an honor.”

In addition to her parents, survivors include three children whom she loved and cared for unconditionally, Ja’Quavious Marquis 5, Ja’Nylian Marquez 3, and Eryn Anylah-Ja’lei 2; sister, Avis Clark; close acquaintance, Johndeldrick Reid; Godsister, Kation Manning; Goddaughter, Kerridan Jackson; maternal grandmother, Hattie Mae Foster; paternal grandmother, Martha Clark and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, God sisters/brothers and friends.

She was preceded in death by maternal grandfather, Chester Foster, Sr. and paternal grandfather, James Young.

A celebration of life service was held April 20 at St. James A.M.E. Church in Monticello. Rev. Donna Marie Calix officiated. Interment was in South View Cemetery.

Smith and Sons Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
